I am undertaking Asbestos Surveys. Can I obtain cover for this?


*The RICS minimum terms provide a limited extent of cover in relation to asbestos claims. However, the insurance market still has concerns about asbestos exposure faced by firms. If you declare that you are undertaking or intend to undertake Type 1, 2 or 3 Surveys some insurers may decline to offer terms. There are a very limited number of insurers with an appetite for insuring this type of work and they will impose strict criteria concerning the nature of work undertaken and experience requirements of the individuals undertaking it. The key is to work with a broker that has a bona fide relationship with this specialist market and can help you assemble an appropriate submission which meets the Underwriters’ requirements.
